Preview Video showing WP7 <-> PC synchronization

Hello everyone,

I have spent a lot of time with coding in the last weeks and today I made another short and rough preview video about NaviComputer for Windows Phone.

It shows how NaviComputer for WP7 together with the corresponding PC application NaviMapper can easily synchronize and transfer files between the Phone and a desktop PC. Compared to Windows Mobile 6 with WP7 it is not possible to copy files to the phone using the windows explorer, so I had to find a different solution to get maps and track files from the PC onto the phone. Using NaviMapper on the PC I found a solution which, in my opinion, is really convient. Connected to the PC via Wifi network or USB cable you can simply drag and drop gpx or nmap files to the phone in NaviMapper. After hitting a single button in NaviComputer you get all the files transfered to the phone. Whenever you record and save a new trip in NaviComputer, it will automatically be copied to your PC when you synchronisze it the next time.

Take a look at the video below and feel free to add your comments!

I have downloaded NaviComputer and NaviMapper onto my PC. I see the .exe for NaviMapper, but how do I install or get some sort of ".exe" from NaviComputer? I see a .xlm file and other files when I extracted NaviComputer, but at a loss for how to get NaviComputer running. I have a Samsung Focus Windows Phone and Windows XP on the PC.

    Appreciate help.
    Thx

I think the short answer is that it has not been released yet for Windows Phone and what you have is the Windows Mobile version.

It looks really great. I'm testing it on Windows mobile 6.1 and I'd like to test it in my Windows Phone. If you need a betatester, please, send me an email 😉

Maybe more maps sources could be interesting in this new version. Google topo or satellite could be great and I use another software which can download them on-line and use them off-line. SkyDrive connection could be perfect.

Hi, I'm a long term user of the windows mobile version and still use it now but having owned a wp7 handset for some time would really like to stop having to bring my old and tired wm handset out with me whenever I want to use navicomputer!
I know that you have said that you were having issues and were thinking of waiting for wp8 but how much functuality does the wp7 version have?

There are some people out there like myself with fully unlocked handsets who can easily install unofficial cap files and would love to have navicomputer on wp7 buggy or not!

please forgive me for posting this in two topics, I'm not sure what gets read on here or which one is the most relevant, please feel free to delete one.
